Tananrive Due
Dark Dream Productions

A leading voice in Black speculative fiction and horror for more than three decades, Tananarive Due has earned the American Book Award, an NAACP Image Award, a Bram Stoker Award, a Shirley Jackson Award, and received a New York Times Notable Book designation. As an executive producer of Shudder’s groundbreaking documentary Horror Noire: A History of Black Horror, she also co-wrote segments for the Horror Noire anthology film and “A Small Town” for Jordan Peele’s The Twilight Zone.

Due is also an educator, teaching Horror at UCLA and offering writing courses online with her husband and collaborator, author Steven Barnes. Together, they’ve recently stepped into directing with the audio drama The Walker—featuring Dexter creator Jeff Lindsay—and their upcoming film The Keeper under their production company, Dark Dream Productions.

Since 2022, Due and Barnes have partnered with Anansi Hayes Media for design, web, and production needs across multiple mediums. They’ve collaborated with creative director J. Michael Hayes on brand strategy and digital marketing, and he has provided production support for The Walker audio drama as well as the logo design for Dark Dream Productions.

Aligned with Anansi Hayes Media’s nonprofit and activism-driven mission, Due worked with AHM in 2024 to design and produce the online political awareness event Scare Up The Vote, featuring Stephen King, Mike Flanagan, Katie Holmes, Stephen Graham Jones, David Dastmalchian, and many others.
